昔はどこの家でも神棚の脇にだんご木(麩せんべい、米だんご)をかざしました。とてもあざやかなものです煙で黒ずんだ室内がぱっと明るくなったものです。
市本町通りは歩行者天国、350の露店が立ち賑わっていました。
