この拍子木は、回り番で「火の用心」と呼ばわり
小野川町内を夜警して回った時に使われたものです．
明治期に２度ほど大火があり、温泉街は、建物が
軒をつらねているために、火事の惨禍を知っていた
町民が、自衛のために行っていたものです．
